Station Four: Name that Product
Skill Content and Objective:
multiplication fluency
mental math skills
understanding the relationship between numbers to find products of multiplication problems.
Materials:
name that product board-laminated
playing pieces (beans, pieces of colored paper, etc)
2 different colored dry erase marker
dice
Description and Differentiation:
On each square the teacher will write math problems for students to respond to.
Based on where your students are you can do simple math problems or used this board for students who are more advance and use factors above 12 (SOL 3.6).
Students have to write the correct response on the side of the problem with the dry erase marker.
Each student rolls to determine how many spaces to move and which problem to answer. If the problem is answered incorrectly they have to move back to start.
The first one at the end of the board is the winner.
Assessments:
As students are working on this together the teacher should take anecdotal notes on which student is which colored marker and how often they answer the problems wrong. The students can then turn in the card when they are done. The teacher will check the responses and the person with the most correct problems could receive a prize.
