Station Five: Tic Tac Toe Math

tic tac toe board
30 playing pieces
2 or more players
dice
Description and Differentiation
One player rolls two dice.
That player multiplies the two numbers together, and says the product.
The other player then places a piece on his board if he has a multiplication problem that would equal the product. For example if the first player says 30, then the other player would look for 6*5 or 5*6 or 10*3. This player would say, I am marking 5*6 because 5*6=30.
Then the next player rolls the dice and continues as stated above.
The first player to get tic tac toe three in a row is the winner.
Assessments
Students will complete the I can card which will will be checked off for accuracy. The teacher will also listen for students speaking in accurate mathematical terms.
